Movie info via Rotten Tomatoes:
Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental,” an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
Review:
In Elemental, the latest Pixar animated offering, Fire and Water will mix, fall in love and save their fellow Earth and Wind denizens from a flood.

I was hoping all 118 elements on the Periodic Table will get character representation, but there is only time and space for the old Greek Aristotelian ones. What is there is often beautifully, wittily represented, making up for the plots unoriginality- a Romeo and Juliette tale that involves resolving family expectations with true inner goals that conflict. I just kept on wishing the high pitched lovers would stop talking and let the merging of water, wind, fire and earth do their magic. I have never been bored and yet mesmerized by a Pixar flick.

How the director and writers work out the details of Fire and Water being able to touch without extinguishing each other is where the true art resides in Elemental. Their binding is creating new elements, visuals that are breath and mind shattering. I just wanted the plot to stop and let them get in on and evolve.

Elemental is a slight disappointment for the Pixar brand where being just good is not good enough. It gets a 3.0 out of 5 or a B.
