What Remains?

What remains left of holidays 
if the days of the week dissolve 
and stop fading into seasons
cars refuse to travel on tarmac
& shopping centers become empty
& our unharvested  crops  return to jungle

Will we live backwards lives
revel in a smaller world to inhabit
with more birds and seen stars
find bliss in ordinary existence
